João Ramos de Almeida
was born in 1960
in Lisbon, graduated in Economics at the Instituto
Superior de Economia, was a journalist from
1986 to 2012 in several Portuguese newspapers as
Diário de Lisboa
,
Europeu
,
Semanário Económico
,
Expresso
and
Público
and is currently working as
consultant at the Observatory on Crises and
Alternatives. He is the author of two animated
films, a documentary and a book about elections
fraud in Portugal.
Domènec Ruiz Devesa
is a specialist in
European economic policy and the international
monetary system. Devesa holds degrees in Law
and Economics from the University Carlos III, a
degree in Political Science and Sociology from
the UNED and a Master in International Relations
with a concentration in European Studies from
Johns Hopkins University. He has provided con-
sulting services for international organisations
such as the World Bank, the Inter-American
Development Bank and the Union for the
Mediterranean, international consulting firms
including Oxford Policy Management and Family
Health International and think tanks such as the
Fundación Alternativas, where he is a member of
the Council for European Affairs, and Fundación
Sistema, in which he serves as a member of the
editorial board of the journal Temas para el
Debate. Domènec is currently an Advisor to the
Spanish Socialist Delegation in the European
Parliament and Vice President of the Union of
European Federalists of Spain.
